It would be recalled that, D’banj who said he has ventured into Agriculture earlier this year announced in March, the introduction of his own product ‘Koko garri’ at the One Do Agric Campaign launch which held at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.

SHOCKING! Ritualists’ Den Uncovered In Lagos, 8 Kidnapped Victims Freed

A ritualists’ den was, yesterday, uncovered at Ogolonto area of Ikorodu Lagos, with at least eight victims, said to have been kidnapped from different parts of the country, rescued.
One of the victims, a 52-year‑old man, who identified himself simply as Onwurah, alleged that his wife had a hand in his kidnap, saying he had spent two years in the enclave.
The den was uncovered following a foiled attempt by a mother of four to take one of her victims, a seven year‑old boy, to the den.
The woman identified as Mrs Rosemary Chukwu, who resides at 33, Omologede Street, behind C&S Primary School, allegedly abducted the seven-year‑old primary school pupil, Emmanuel Emeka, on his way to fetch water from a public well at about 6.30 a.m, Vanguard had learnt.

· The player Luis Suárez is regarded as having breached art. 48 par. 1 lit. d of the FIFA Disciplinary Code (FDC) (assault), and art. 57 of the FDC (an act of unsporting behaviour towards another player).

An explosion has rocked the nation’s capital, Abuja.The explosion, which occurred at a major shopping mall, Emab Plaza, in Wuse 2, Abuja, happened at about 4p.m, an eyewitness said.
The explosion was said to have occurred at the gate of the ever-busy plaza. Many cars are still on fire even as emergency workers are still arriving the scene.

FG Will Not Rest Until Chibok Girls Are Rescued Says Omeri

Coordinator of the National Information Centre, Mr Mike Omeri, Monday said the Federal Government will not rest until the abducted Chibok girls are rescued.
Omeri said the girls taken by dreaded Islamist sect Boko Haram are of utmost importance to the government and the people of Nigeria.
He also disclosed that a notorious terrorist who had led series of attacks against security personnel, Mallam Husaini, died in an encounter between his group and a military convoy on the Jos-Bauchi expressway.

Fifa has announced it will open an investigation into allegations Uruguay striker Luis Suarez bit Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini on the shoulder in Tuesday's World Cup encounter in Natal.

The two clashed late in the Group D fixture which Uruguay went on to win 1-0 to eliminate the Azzurri. Chiellini immediately drew the attention of referee Marco Rodriguez, pulling down his shirt to display his skin. However, no action was taken by the Mexican official.

Pictures and videos of the incident quickly spread on social media and Fifa, the world game's governing body, later confirmed it will look into the matter further.

Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has been ranked the best goalkeeper so far in the on-going FIFA World Cup by Castrol’s player rating index.
The Lille of France shot stopper who won two Man of the Match awards in Nigeria’s three matches at the last edition of the competition in South Africa 2010 has so far
made eight saves,the most so far by any goalkeeper and is yet to concede a goal in the Eagles two opening games.
Coming second behind Enyeama is Mexico’s Guillermo Ochoa who also hasn’t conceded a goal as well but is ranked second with 9.25 points. Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has expressed his satisfaction with the performance of his team after the 1-0 win over Bosnia-Herzogovina which almost guarantees his team a Round of 16 qualification.
An Osaze Odemwingie 29th minute goal secured a much needed win for Stephen Keshi’s team and are now within a point of a Round of 16 qualification.
“We showed good character today(after the game early Sunday Nigerian time). I liked what I saw from my players,” Keshi smiled.

INEC Declares Ayo Fayose Winner of Ekiti Polls

Ayodele Fayose of the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] has won Saturday’s governorship elections held yesterday in Ekiti State, with what appears a landslide.
To emerge winner, Mr. Fayose polled a total of 203,090 votes, winning the highest number of votes in all the 16 Local Government Areas of the state.
Incumbent Governor Kayode Fayemi of the All Progressives Congress [APC], who is his closest challenger, came a distant second, garnering 120,433 votes.

Ballot counting has started in some parts of Ekiti State after the governorship election voting exercise that witnessed large turnout of voters.

Court Orders House OF Reps to Stop Probe of Petroleum Minister

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the House of Representatives to stop its proposed probe of the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), over a N10 billion allegedly spent on aircraft hire.
In a ruling by Justice Ahmed Mohammed on Thursday, the order was to subsist till July 3 when the substantive suit would be heard.
The order came ahead of the plan by the House Committee on Public Accounts to carry out the probe on June 25, 26 and 27, 2014.

Nigerian Army Kills 50 Boko Haram Members In Borno


Maj.-Gen. Chris Olukolade , Director of Defence Information, on Monday announced that the Nigerian army at the weekend killed about 50 Bomo Haram sect members in a foiled attack on villages in Borno and Adamawa states.


The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) made this known in a statement issued to newsmen in Abuja.
According to the statement, the sect members were on their way to attack selected communities, when they were ambushed by soldiers along Bilta, Borno State, upon receiving intelligence report on the Islamist intention.
Olukolade said the attack was launched at about 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, as the terrorists trooped out of the forest to embark on their mission.
