Mike Ocquaye, who was previously deputy speaker of the Ghanaian parliament, told an anti-gay forum in Accra that the gay rights lobby is an "abomination", adding that all children deserve the right to a traditional family structure.

A 37-year-old muslim cleric, Isah Salaudeen was caught on Thursday night trying to slaughter a young girl, Chiwendu Nkwocha who had gone to him for spiritual help in Ibadan.

According to report, the victim, Nkwocha was brought to Salaudeen by her boyfriend, Bola, in January this year so that he would help in using prayers and other means to exorcise some spirits troubling her and she had been undergoing this ‘spiritual cleansing’ by being given herbs, concoctions and ‘holy water’ to cure her.

Chinese researchers at Peking University in Beijing have invented a small generator that uses the human body as an electrode to power devices without requiring batteries.

According to Phys.org, the researchers have created a new material known as single-friction-surface triboelectric generator (STEG). Due to the triboelectric effect, some materials become electrically charged when they rub against each other, one example being static electricity.

Tragedy struck in Abeokuta on Thursday as a police corporal shot dead his wife, a commercial motorcyclist and five members of a family. The corporal, Sunkanmi Ogunbiyi, also killed himself. New FRSC Number Plates Are Illegal- Court

The new number plates introduced by the Federal Road Safety Commission, is unconstitutional, a Federal High Court in Lagos said today Wednesday March 26th.

Delivering judgment in a suit filed by Emmanuel Ofoegbu, a lawyer, against the FRSC, the judge said that it was unlawful for the commission to impose the new number plates on Nigerians, where no existing law permitted it.

“The issue of redesigning new number plates by the respondent, is not covered under the provisions of any law in Nigeria,” said James Tsoho, the judge.

Even if searchers are able to miraculously pluck Malaysia Airlines flight 370's "black box" from the depths of the vast Indian Ocean, experts say it may not solve one of aviation's greatest mysteries. 

Planes, ships and state-of-the-art tracking equipment are hunting for any trace of the passenger jet, which Malaysia said crashed in the forbidding waters after veering far from its intended course. They face a huge challenge locating the Boeing 777's "black box", which holds vital clues to determining what caused the plane to vanish after it took off from Kuala Lumpur en route to Beijing on March 8. But experts believe the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder may not yield answers on the riddle of how and why the plane diverted an hour into the flight, and embarked on a baffling journey to the southern reaches of the Indian Ocean. The data recorder details the aircraft's path and other mechanical information for the flight's duration, and "should provide a wealth of information", US-based aviation consultancy firm Leeham Co said in a commentary.

A Chinese woman had a bullet removed from her head after 48 years and she didn't even know it was there. The 62-year-old woman, identified in local media only by her surname Zhao, had a 2.5cm long munition extracted from behind her nose by surgeons. But it was a complete mystery how it got there in the first place.
