Again another policeman caught on video demanding N10,000 bribe

For the third time in the past two months, another policeman has been caught on video demanding a bribe of N10,000 from a motorist.
The footage, secretly filmed by a passenger at the back seat of a vehicle in Onitsha, Anambra State, has so far received thousands of hits on YouTube. The three-minute 18-second video which first appeared on the YouTube channel of one Tola Tim, has since become an Internet sensation.
In the video, a policeman apprehended the driver of a vehicle that was coming from Akure, Ondo State to Umuahia, Abia State. 'BORN AGAIN' SUPER STARS

The sports scene is replete with lots of frustrations, scandals, immorality, drug abuse, sex scandal and other vices. However, a few of these stars have been open about their love for God.

Ricardo KAKA

The Brazilian and AC Milan superstar is one of the rare generation of players from an affluent background. He is known to be a God fearing player and has never been associated with any scandal unlike most players of his generation. His attachment to Jesus is not unconnected to his miraculous recovery to a career-threatening accident he suffered at the age of 18, which was possibly paralysis-inducing spinal fracture as a result of a swimming pool accident. He attributes his recovery to God and has since tithed his income to his church.

DON'T INSULT JESUS...! CYV Tells El-Rufai

El-Rufai

The Christian Youth Vanguard, a coalition of various Christian youth organisations, on Wednesday in Abuja threatened to “reciprocate in equal measure” the anti-Christ comments by a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.
The youths said they would beam their searchlight on Prophet Mohammed and the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar 111.
The threat is coming on the heels of comments against Jesus Christ and a recent outburst by el-Rufai that the Christian Association of Nigeria and its President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, have become appendages of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The CYV in a statement by its National Coordinator, Yakubu Mecham; and Secretary, Emeka Okoli said from el-Rufai’s uncomplimentary remarks against CAN , Oritsejafor and the Christian faith in Nigeria, someone needed “to help the ex-minister before he goes completely mental.”
The NYV recalled how el-Rufai recently “made blasphemous and abominable tweets about our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” but that the incident was swept under the carpet for peace sake.
The group wondered what would have been the consequence if such a blasphemous remark was made about Prophet Mohammed.

PROTECTIVE MOM: Tupac's Mom Sues "Entertainment One" for $1.1M

0925-tupac-shakur-getty
You haven't met a protective mother until you've met Tupac's mom ... she's now suing over unpaid royalties stemming from the late rapper's posthumous album ... to the tune of $1.1 million.

Afeni Shakur -- the co-administrator of Tupac's estate -- filed the lawsuit against a company called Entertainment One, claiming it breached a contract to pay Tupac's estate royalties on "Beginnings: The Lost Tapes," which was released in June 2007.

According to the suit, E1 purchased the rights to Tupac's music (previously owned by Death Row Records) in July. FYI, Death Row went bankrupt in 2006.

Afeni claims E1 now owes Tupac's estate $1.1 million ... and it better pony up fast. She also wants E1 to hand over the master recordings of all Tupac's unreleased music.

Hell hath no fury like a mother scorned. Calls to E1 weren't returned

Nigerian Music Is Unintelligent. Even Goats Can Dance To Our Music – Jesse Jagz

In an interview with HipHop World Magazine, Jesse Jagz  was asked who was his top 3 Naija artistes, and his reply was:

“my top 3 artistes in Nigeria are me, me, me. no one works harder than me. I would love to see a lot of my colleagues step up their game. This is not a Kendrick thing. You don’t need Jesus to tell you that Nigerian music is unintelligent. Even goats can dance to our music. Can Jesse Jagz make Nigeria a better place for Wizkid? Can Wizkid do same too? Let adults do better and let kids party. We need to leave something better for the coming generation”.

I think Jesse Jagz has a point there. Hmm...

MESSI AND FATHER IN COURT TO ANSWER TAX EVASION CHARGES

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi and his father have arrived in court to answer charges of tax evasion.

The World Player of the Year and his dad Jorge, who both deny wrongdoing, allegedly hid more than €4million (£3.4m) by filing incomplete returns for the years 2006 to 2009. Jorge arrived first to face the charges....

They have already made a 'corrective payment' to Spanish authorities of just over €5m (£4.2m) - the unpaid tax plus interest.

Messi has been resident in Barcelona since joining the club’s academy in 2000 and gained Spanish citizenship five years later.

'I never take care of that (tax) stuff myself and neither does my father,' Messi, 26, said in July. 'We have our lawyers and our wealth managers to take care of that and we trust them and they will sort this out.

Messi takes home around €16m (£13.5m) a year in wages from Barcelona and has a string of multi-million dollar investments around the world.

The hearing will determine whether the case is pursued further.

BROTHERS OR GIRL FRIEND; WHO COMES FIRST FOR MI?

MI
He more or less, sneaked into the music industry. Nobody even gave him a second look. But he won the Headies award (then Hip Hop Award) and like a meteorite, MI became a star.
Oh yes, it didn’t stop there. Back to back, MI won more and more awards.
Saturday Beats once caught him, watching with awe and with mouth agape, an international artiste perform at a show years ago. Now, his story has changed. He is still not in the same league as the likes of Kanye West and Jay Zs of this world, but our own MI can hold his head high as one of Africa’s best artistes.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ELECTRIC VEHICLES

Electric Vehicles (EVs)

Tesla Model S

DID YOU KNOW?
The environmental benefits of plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles increase if they are powered by electricity from 'green' sources such as solar, wind or small-scale hydroelectricity.

Electric vehicles (EVs) are propelled by an electric motor (or motors) powered by rechargeable battery packs. EVs have several advantages over vehicles with internal combustion engines (ICEs):
  • Energy efficient. Electric vehicles convert about 59–62% of the electrical energy from the grid to power at the wheels—conventional gasoline vehicles only convert about 17–21% of the energy stored in gasoline to power at the wheels.*
  • Environmentally friendly. EVs emit no tailpipe pollutants, although the power plant producing the electricity may emit them. Electricity from nuclear-, hydro-, solar-, or wind-powered plants causes no air pollutants.
  • Performance benefits. Electric motors provide quiet, smooth operation and stronger acceleration and require less maintenance than ICEs.
  • Reduce energy dependence. Electricity is a domestic energy source.
EVs do, however, face significant battery-related challenges:

AS FAST AS PUMA

USAIN BOLT OFFERS TO HELP BALE BECOME FASTEST FOOTBALLER

Olympic sprinting icon Usain Bolt wants to help Gareth Bale improve his speed like he did with Real Madrid team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo.

Bale, 25, made his move to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer for a world record €100 million fee, but the reigning 100m and 200m World and Olympic champion believes that he can make the Welshman an even more phenomenal player.

"I think Gareth is probably the fastest player in the world at the moment - but I will help him with his sprinting if he wants," Bolt is quoted as saying by The Daily Mail.

"It is not just about how fast you can accelerate - but also when you have the football at your feet about balance while you are sprinting as well. I helped Ronaldo with his sprinting in a training session - and look what he has go on to achieve since then.

"I have a lot of respect for Real Madrid - and if they and Gareth want my help I am happy to fly in and take a private training session with Gareth. I hear that he has been clocking speeds close to me - but it is about technique as well.

"I know I could make him an even better player than he already is."

Bale was absent from Real Madrid's last-gasp, controversial win over Elche on Wednesday after picking up a minor injury at the weekend.
Xiaolian: Chinese Man Grows New Nose on His Forehead

You may have heard of sneaky nose jobs in Bollywood, but this piece of bizarre news is bound to drive away the images of a cute little bobby nose from your head. But this story has a rather tragic start , but a happy ending. A Chinese man, who has only been named as Xiaolian, has had a nose grown on his forehead. Doctors at a hospital in Fuzhou, Fujian province created a replacement for his original nose which was infected and deformed.
A new nose, grown by surgeons on Xiaolian's forehead, is pictured before being transplanted to replace the original nose

Xiaolian had his nose damaged in a traffic accident in August 2012, but neglected his nasal trauma and failed to seek treatment for it.After several months, the infection had corroded the cartilage of the nose, making it impossible for surgeons to fix it leaving no alternative but to grow a new nose for replacement.

According to the DailyMail, the surgeons were left with no choice but to grow him a new nose and then to transplant it in place of his damaged one.The nose was created by placing a skin tissue expander onto Xiaolian’s forehead. This was cut into the shape of a nose and was supported by cartilage taken from the man’s ribs.

As is evident from the somewhat shocking pictures, the procedure has been successful and the nose is in good shape and has developed well. The transplant surgery to place the nose in its correct position will be carried out soon, according to the surgeons.

So here's hoping that Xiaolian surgery is successful and he can breathe a huge sigh of happy relief.

Boko Haram: Abubakar Shekau resurfaces!

Says nobody call kill him except by the will of Allah

About three months after he was reportedly killed in a gun battle, leader of the Boko Haram sect, Abubakur Shekau, resurfaced and spoke on tape on Wednesday boasting of invincibility and threatening to ground democracy in Nigeria.
He equally boasted that he can not die.
Shekau who was surrounded by dozens of his Lieutenants, all dressed in military fatigue, spoke amidst laughter and sarcasm as he took responsibility for recent attacks in Borno State.
The Boko Haram leader speaking while sitting in a bush environment with birds chirping at the background said his ultimate aim was to ensure democracy ceased to exist in Nigeria.
He also mocked the Nigerian army, stating that his group had succeeded in taking possession of three of their armoured tankers, large cache of arms and fleets of the military vehicles and troops.
His words: “The world should know that I cannot die except by the will of Allah. I have told you that all that I do is prescribed by the Quran.

“The essence of it is to carry out the injunctions. Don’t bother yourselves stopping me because I cannot be stopped. The war is more grievous than you think, and it will consume you.
“I swear by Allah that there will be no democracy in Nigeria. We are going to rise against it and we shall soon defeat.
“The concept of government of the people by the people, for the people cannot continue to exist. It shall soon, very soon, be replaced by ‘Government of Allah, by Allah for Allah’.
“It was said that I was killed, but here I am; I deliberately refused to respond on time; but here I am talking and laughing at Nigerian authority who misled the world that I am dead.
“I believe by now Lt Col Sagir Musa, who issued the statement of my death should bury his head in shame; President Jonathan should bury his head in shame; President Barrack Obama should bury his head in shame, President François Hollande should bury his head in shame.
“How shameful is it for Nigerian military for a man they called inconsequential to defeat them and seize their tankers and arms. We have celebrated our victory in Monguno, Benisheik and surrounding villages, and we shall not relent until total victory comes our way, by Allah’s will”.
The now disbanded JTF in Borno State had on the 19th of August 2013 issued a statement through its spokesman, Lt Col Musa, who is now spokesman of the Army 7th Division that Shekau may have been killed in a military shootout on 30th of June this year.

Terrorism: Military deploys more fighter jets in Borno, others as Al-Qaeda aids Boko Haram

Strong indications have emerged that Islamic militants from some North African countries are coordinating attacks against the Nigerian military in the North Eastern part of the country.
A military source told one of Punch correspondents in Abuja that security operatives came to this conclusion when they discovered that many Arabs of Shuwa descent and fair-skinned people from Mauritania, Sudan, Somalia, Algeria and Niger, were among those whose bodies were found after some of the recent encounters with the militants.
The source said, “We strongly believe that the foreign militants under the Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb are coordinating the attacks against our men in the troubled North Eastern states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa.

“We have seen fairs-skinned corpses and those of Arab of Shuwa descent. We believe they are from countries like Algeria, Mauritania, Niger, Sudan and Somalia. It is very possible they are helping the Nigerian insurgents like those in Boko Haram in coordinating attacks against our men.”

Punch correspondent learnt that there were strong feelings in the military that the militants who still have several bases in the thick forests of the northern part of Borno State, were among those chased out of Mali by the French and the West African troops led by Nigeria.
The militants are said be be armed with Rocket Propelled Grenades and General Purpose Machine Guns which are more sophisticated than the AK 47 used by the Nigerian troops.
Another security source told our correspondent that the RPG released to the Nigerian troops were obsolete compared to those being wielded by the militants from North Africa and their Boko Haram allies.
Findings indicated that the level of preparedness and calibre of arms in possession of the militants were responsible for ‘the high casualty on the Nigerian side.’
The Director of Army Public Relations, Brig. Gen Ibrahim Attahiru, had said during a press conference a week ago that the Army lost 15 soldiers with nine others missing during the attack by militants in the Kasiya Forest in Ngazai Local Government Area of Borno State.
Last Sunday and Monday morning, the insurgents launched another rounds of attacks on the Nigerian troops, necessitating the deployment of more fighter jets in the troubled states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa.
It was learnt that the fighter jets immediately commenced monitoring the activities of the insurgents in the three states which are under emergency rule.
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Alex Badeh, is said to be personally supervising the use of fighter jets and the Air Force personnel supporting the Army in the fight against the insurgents.
It was also gathered that a major offensive planned by the Army with aerial back up from the Air Force resulted in the killing of a good number of the insurgents on Monday night.
Punch source couldn’t give the casualty figure in the latest attack.
The Director of Air Information, Air Commodore Yusuf Anas, confirmed the deployment of Alpha jets as well as M1, 35 and M1,34 helicopters in the operational areas.
Anas also confirmed that Badeh was in Maiduguri to supervise the latest deployment and the personnel of the Air Force assisting the the Army in the campaign against terrorism.
He said, “It is true; we have deployed M1, 35 and M1,34 helicopters and Alpha jet aircraft. They are there to support the Nigerian Army in curtailing the security situation in the North-East.
“I cannot give you the exact number but the figure is adequate to perform the role for which they were deployed. I know that in the past nine months, we have always had NAF helicopters there; they are engaged in patrol purposes, medical services, medical evacuation and also offensive roles; that is, they are also used for attacks.
“In addition to that, the Air Force has deployed Alpha jets aircraft to participate in the operation. I can also confirm that the Chief of Air staff was in Maiduguri to monitor the deployment and supervise our personnel who are involved in the operation.”
