2015: Buhari Begins ‘Meet The Delegates’ Tour

Buhari
A former Head of State and presidential aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd), on Tuesday began his meet the delegates’ tour with visits to delegates in Abia, Imo, Delta and the six states in the South-South geo-political zone.
He used the visit to canvass support for his presidential bid as well as rub minds with delegates on the forthcoming presidential primary of the APC.
The Head of Media of the Buhari Organisation, Dr. Chidia Maduekwe, confirmed the development yesterday.
He said, “As we speak, we are just leaving from Port-Harcourt and by tomorrow, God’s willing, we will be in Makurdi.

“Everywhere we went, the story is the same. People want positive change; they are tired of the corruption and the lack of security which has become part of our daily lives.
“The General canvassed the support of the delegates in the light of the growing insecurity despite the huge resources spent on security – this year alone N1tn was spent and another $1bn loan is being looked for”.
Madueke said the former head of state also spoke about the inefficiency, which had become the bane of the President Goodluck Jonathan-led administration, which appeared unruffled amid the massive corruption and impunity in the land.
He said that the impunity had led to an unprecedented level of the use of state apparatus and resources to intimidate people for holding contrary views.
Maduekwe noted that contrary to the perception in some quarters, despite his age, Buhari was not relenting as he had been going round the country to meet with delegates.
He reiterated the campaign organisation’s readiness to ensure an issue-based campaign to restore public confidence in governance and the need to push for positive change.
The spokesperson also explained that the fund raising campaign, which was being embarked on, was aimed at getting ordinary Nigerians, who were lovers of Buhari, to donate at least N100 each to support his presidential campaign.
