Associated Airline survivor, Femi Akinsanya speaks on second life

Femi Akinsanya
His face looked fresh, he radiated good health and joy as he walked stylishly and moved round the premises of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja,Lagos State a few days ago when he went to say thank you to those who helped in treating him after the ill-fated crash of an aircraft, the Associated Airlines, in Lagos on October 3.
Femi Akinsanya, an in-law to the late former Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Agagu, who survived the plane crash as the remains of Agagu was being conveyed home for burial, stated that he is now living a second life.
He had walked out of the ill-fated Embraer 120 aircraft, which crashed near the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos State, apparently unhurt.
The tall, lanky, young dude, who recently came back from overseas treatment, was at the Surgery Emergency Ward along with his friends to appreciate all those that came to his aid when he was rushed into the hospital.
Nurses and doctors at the hospital were taken aback when they sighted Akinsanya as soon as he entered their offices, but they were all delighted that his health has been fully restored after the ugly incident.
Akinsanya, in his words, said: “I am happy to be here to see how the place looks like and to be alive hale and hearty.
“I cannot tell you much about the incident or how it happened, all I can say is that God should be praised for the whole thing.
“I also thank all those who helped us after the incident and I wish to commiserate with the families of those who lost their lives in the crash.”
Akinsanya disclosed that he is 100 per cent okay but declined to mention the hospital where he was treated abroad.
He also disclosed that the son of the former governor, Feyi Agagu, who also survived the crash, is still being treated abroad and recovering fast.
He added that he would not stop flying despite the bitter experience.
He said: “I would still travel by air.
“I believe it is God that grants anyone the grace to be anything in life.
“It is God’s grace that matters in anything.
“I have a second life now.
“Let’s see how it goes.”
