COCACOLA FIFA RANKING: Nigeria Ranks 44th In World And 6th in Africa

The Super Eagles of Nigeria moved up a place in the latest FIFA rankings for May,climbing up to 44th position in the world.

However their position remained unchanged in Africa,as they are still pegged in sixth position behind Cape Verde who are ranked fifth on the continent.

Polling a total of 631 points on the log,Nigeria made the move from its previous position of 45th notching up a place on the current log.

With a series of friendly games on the horizon before the World Cup next month,Nigeria could continue its rise on the table if they post good outings in the friendly matches before the next rankings come out.

Gospel Music Association honours 'Give Thanks' singer Don Moen, Four Others

The GMA (The Gospel Music Association) recognised Don Moen along with four other honorees in its inaugural GMA Honours celebration at Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena. The gala event was in celebration of individuals and organisations that impact the culture through gospel music both past and present. In conjunction with the honours, the GMA also inducted producer Brown Bannister, the venerable Gaither Vocal Band, Take 6 and posthumously Rich Mullins, writer of “Awesome God,” into the GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame. Friend, prolific songwriter and worship leader Lenny LeBlanc presented Moen with his award before the audience watched a short video presentation of Moen’s life.

Spanish club Villarreal have been fined just £10,000 by the Spanish League after a supporter threw a banana at Barcelona star Dani Alves. The incident occurred when the Brazilian defender was preparing to take a corner during the Catalan side's 3-2 win at El Madrigal on April 27. Alves reaction - picking up the banana and eating it - drew widespread support from players and fans alike on social media, while his Barcelona colleague Neymar tweeted his support immediately after the match, using the hashtag "We are all monkeys."

Since my wife and I first discussed having a child, the thought of this one-time opportunity to eat human placenta had been rolling around my mind. Being inquisitively omnivorous, I wanted to know how it would taste; in the face of a fresh, still-warm placenta, I was less enthusiastic. The wobbly, knotted mass of fibrous, clot-like flesh was bigger than I expected and somewhat intimidating. While I wavered, a more open-minded midwife suggested taking “just a few cheeky steaks”. So I left the hospital with my wife, our newborn son and a doggy bag.

The driver of the blue Honda was taken into custody by Secret Service

A car that trailed a motorcade carrying President Barack Obama's daughters on to Pennsylvania Avenue prompted a security lockdown at the White House on Tuesday. A Secret Service spokesman said the car entered the security checkpoint at 17th Street and Pennsylvania and was immediately stopped by Secret Service uniformed officers.
