UEFA are expected to take disciplinary action after Bayern Munich fans displayed a homophobic banner against Arsenal. The banner was shown by fans during the 1-1 draw in the Champions League match at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday night. European football's governing body will also look into a separate banner about Kosovo, and have received a report from FARE regarding the insult to Arsenal. The banner referred to the North London club as 'Gay Gunners', carrying an expletive, homophobic cartoon, depicting Mesut Ozil.
The chief of press for UEFA, Pedro Pinto revealed the proceedings on Twitter earlier today. He posted: " UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Bayern Munich for an offensive banner at last night's UCL game against Arsenal."
