A teen girl showed how a squirrel lives in her hair.
The girl of Zimbabwe, whose parents run an animal sanctuary 25 miles (40 kilometers) from the capital Harare, said that Hammy, a mopane squirrel, climbed into her hair one day.
After that incident, Abby Putterill, 16, decided that the squirrel can stay. The school girl and her furry partner have been together for two months.
Hammy was just a few days old when it was found on the floor of the Bally Vaughan Wildlife Sanctuary office.
Abby's mother Debbie Putterill, and her husband Gordon, took the squirrel home.
Except for sleeping and showering, the squirrel and the student are virtually inseparable. The squirrel is being fed baby formula and cereals, and is quickly regaining its strength. It has now become a part of the family.
The Bally Vaughan Wildlife Sanctuary was founded in 1980 by the mother and father of Debbie, fulfilling their dream of caring for the sick and wounded African wildlife.
