Following a 2-1 win over the Walia Antelopes of Ethiopia, Nigeria’s Super Eagles have set a new African record for longest unbeaten run in the World Cup qualifiers.
Courtesy of the win, Nigeria have set a new record of going unbeaten in 27 World Cup qualifying matches.
The last time Nigeria tasted defeated in a World Cup qualifier was as far back as 2004, when they lost to Angola in Luanda.
Since then, Nigeria have won eighteen and drawn nine of their last 27 World Cup qualifying games, setting an African record
